Cabbana Indian Bistro – Authentic Indian Cuisine and Warm Hospitality in Vernon, BC

Today we visited Cabbana Indian Bistro for the first time after discovering it on Instagram. The restaurant has a fresh and stylish interior — it looks recently updated and well cared for. As someone not very familiar with traditional Indian cuisine, I found the menu quite overwhelming: it’s extensive with so many dishes that it’s hard to choose without guidance. The server was kind and offered suggestions, but I think it would really help to have at least some photos of the dishes — either in the menu or on the website — especially for guests new to Indian food. We ordered beef curry, mango chicken, and cauliflower fritters. We asked for mild spice and appreciated that the kitchen can adjust the heat level. I also inquired about dairy- and egg-free options, and the server pointed only to vegetarian dishes — which is not exactly the same thing, so a bit more clarity or allergen info would be helpful. Service was generally friendly, the portions were generous, and we ended up taking some food home. For three people, the bill was around $120. The biggest drawback was the strong smell from the kitchen — it felt like the ventilation wasn’t working properly. The scents were intense and stayed on our clothes, which took away from the otherwise pleasant experience. Improving the air circulation would make a big difference. Overall, tasty food and nice atmosphere, but there’s room for improvement especially ventilation.

I tried Cabbana restaurant tonight in Vernon. I ordered two dishes — a classic Butter Chicken with Naan (dine-in) and a Tandoori Mix Grill (takeout). The service was great, the place was clean, and the food was absolutely delicious — I even asked for a second bowl of rice to keep enjoying it! The only downside was the lack of atmosphere, as there was no music and the vibe felt a bit quiet. Still, the food and service were excellent, and I’d definitely recommend this place!

Some of those 1-star reviews complaining about long wait times and bad food seemed a bit sketchy—especially since no one posted pictures of what they ate. Super glad we didn’t let those comments change our mind. We went anyway and had a great time! The food was awesome, the vibe was chill, and the staff were super friendly. Don’t let the negative reviews stop you—go see for yourself!

I often go for lunch by myself and try new places. This is my first time trying Cabbana and it was lovely from the moment I walked in. I was greeted at the door, seated at a large table with cozy comfortable chairs, and it took no time at all for the server to take my order and bring out my food and beverage. I ordered the butter chicken from the lunch menu, wow such a large portion! And for such an affordable price to. The flavour was all there, absolutely delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I will be back again soon.

Went here for dinner and this place truly exceeded our expectations. The restaurant has a great ambiance, the food was visually appealing, and the taste was absolutely delicious. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed such authentic Indian-style food, and this spot really delivered. The customer service was excellent, the seating was comfortable with good spacing, and everything was very neat and clean. I also loved that you can buy sweets here, a perfect touch!

We just discovered Cabbana and absolutely loved it! We tried the lunch special and had the Vegetable Vindaloo and Aloo Muttar — both were full of flavor and perfectly spiced. The portions were generous, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. A great new spot for Indian food — we’ll definitely be back!

Happened to walk in right after the inauguration of the new restaurant in town (Cabbana not Cabana). Great ambience, competitive pricing, warm and welcoming crew and food tastes really good too. It was a refreshing experience and I hope it stays that way for years to come. Also they accommodated my request regarding a quick birthday celebration. Keep up the good work and I wish you all the success. Only request is please don’t compromise on the quality and consistency. Attached few pics I took during my visit.
